Personal Statement

Ferdinand O. Ottoh is a Professor of International Relations and Strategic Studies, University of Lagos, Nigeria. A scholar with many years of teaching and research. He has published in journals locally and internationally and contributed book chapters local and international. Among his recent publications are: Para-diplomacy: Antidote to the complexity of Nigeria Foreign Policy towards Taiwan and the People& Republic of China; Theory and Practice of Securitization of Insecurity in Nigeria; Decolonizing Peacebuilding Research in Africa through Indigenous Knowledge Systems: Experience of Igbo-Speaking Group of Niger-Delta Region, Nigeria; Crystallizing the Gains of Nigeria-China Relations through Universities-Industrial Linkages for Poverty Reduction and Human Security; International Migration and Xenophobia: Consequences for Africa& Integration; Challenges of Small Arms to Peacebuilding in Liberia and Sierra Leone; Changing Pattern of Warfare in Africa: Boko Haram Insurgency in Nigeria, etc. He has participated and presented papers in local and international conferences. A Fellow of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan and an alumnus of West Africa Peacebuilding Institute.
