Dele Ashiru  holds a B.Sc. (Second class upper Division), M.Sc. (Distinction) and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Lagos where he has been a member of the faculty for more than two decades.

Dele Ashiru is a working class scholar activist and has taught a number of courses such as history of political thought, Contemporary Political analysis, Logic and methods of political inquiry, foundation of political economy, methodology of comparative politics amongst others at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

He is a human capacity development experts and community development advocate. He was chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities( ASUU), University of Lagos Branch (2018-2023) and the current National convener of the Union’s Trade Union and Labour Education Committee.
