Dr. Adams is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Lagos, Nigeria. He obtained his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Political Science from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. 

He later received a doctorate degree in Political Science from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He also bagged the Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E.) from the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Nigeria. 

Dr. Adams lectured at the IIUM and Fountain University, Oshogbo before joining the University of Lagos, Nigeria. His research interests include Human Security, Religion and Politics, Media and Politics, Elections, Civil Society and Globalisation. 

He has published articles in Scopus journals and presented papers at national and international conferences. He has also contributed chapters in edited books such as Pan-Africanism, Regional Integration and Development in Africa (Switzerland: Palgrave Macmillan); Islam and diplomacy: The quest for human security (Malaysia: IAIS); and Human Security and Philanthropy: Islamic Perspectives and Muslim Majority Country Practices (New York: Springer).

Dr. Adams is an experienced journalist. He was Chief Correspondent at Punch Newspapers, Lagos, Nigeria (1998-2007).
